Job Description:

Do you love to cook and care in equal measure? We’re on the lookout for a Cook to join our team someone who knows their way around a kitchen and believes food is about more than just nutrition it’s about comfort, community and connection.

What you’ll be doing

This isn’t your average catering job. You’ll be preparing wholesome, tasty meals that bring smiles to people’s faces and you’ll get to know the individuals you’re cooking for, tailoring dishes to their tastes, needs and traditions.

  • Menus will be varied and seasonal, and yes there’s room for home baking too! You’ll also:
  • Cater for individual dietary needs (and the occasional fussy eater)
  • Make good use of fresh fruit and veg
  • Keep the kitchen clean, safe and well-stocked
  • Order food, manage stock, and stick to budgets
  • Encourage service users to help out with food prep when appropriate
  • You’ll be a key part of our friendly team and help make the service feel like home.

What we’re looking for

You’ll bring some catering experience and a passion for good food. You don’t need to be a gourmet chef just someone who cares about quality, comfort, and community.

If you don’t have your Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate yet, don’t worry we’ll help you get it.

You’ll also need to:

  • Be respectful of our Christian ethos
  • Be a member of (or willing to join) the PVG Scheme
  • Be friendly, reliable, and happy working as part of a team
